How to Receive Funds from an Arcadia Finance Loan: All Disbursement Methods

Author: James Okafor, Financial Products Analyst | Published: 2026-05-19 | Last Updated: 2026-05-19

Risk Disclaimer: Disbursement timelines depend on the individual NCR-licensed lender, your bank, and the time of day the loan agreement is finalised. Arcadia Finance is a broker and does not control the disbursement process once you proceed to a lender's platform.

Because Arcadia Finance is a loan comparison broker, it does not disburse funds itself. Once you select a loan offer from one of the lenders in the Arcadia Finance network and finalise your loan agreement on the lender's own platform, the disbursement of funds is handled entirely by that lender.

Direct Bank Account Transfer

The standard and universal disbursement method for loans arranged via Arcadia Finance is a direct electronic funds transfer (EFT) to the borrower's South African bank account. This is the method used by all lenders in the Arcadia Finance panel.

How it works:

  1. You accept a loan offer and complete the agreement process on the lender's platform
  2. You sign the loan agreement electronically (typically via OTP-based consent)
  3. The lender initiates an EFT to the bank account you provided in your application
  4. Funds arrive in your account — timeframes vary (see table below)

Disbursement Timeframes

ScenarioTypical Timeframe
Application completed during business hours (Mon–Fri)Same day or within 24 hours
Application completed in the evening or on weekendsNext business day
Large loan amounts (R100,000+) requiring manual review2–5 business days
Bank processing delays (inter-bank transfers)Up to 2 business days

Note: These are general estimates. Actual times depend on the specific lender and your bank.

What Happens After Loan Agreement Signing

Once you have signed the loan agreement with the lender:

  • You will receive confirmation via SMS and/or email
  • The lender initiates the transfer to your bank account
  • You will receive a separate notification when funds are credited
  • Your first repayment debit order date will be specified in the loan agreement

What to Do If Funds Are Delayed

If funds have not arrived within the timeframe indicated by the lender:

  1. Check your bank account and any pending transactions
  2. Contact the lender directly (not Arcadia Finance — post-approval support is the lender's responsibility)
  3. Have your loan agreement reference number ready when contacting the lender
  4. If the lender is unresponsive, you can escalate to the NCR via https://www.ncr.org.za/ or the National Consumer Tribunal

Frequently Asked Questions — Receiving Funds

Who transfers the money — Arcadia Finance or the lender? The individual lender transfers the funds. Arcadia Finance is a broker and does not handle any money directly.

Can the loan be paid into any South African bank account? Generally yes — funds are transferred to the bank account you specified in your application. Some lenders may have restrictions on certain bank types (e.g., some may not disburse to savings accounts). Check with the specific lender.

Can I receive my loan in cash? No. All loans arranged via the Arcadia Finance platform are disbursed electronically to a South African bank account. Cash disbursement is not available.

What if I gave the wrong bank account number in my application? Contact the lender immediately after completing your application. If the transfer has not yet been initiated, the lender may be able to amend the account details. Act quickly as this can be difficult to reverse once initiated.
